Hello Deriv Community, **What is Negative Balance Protection?** Negative balance protection ensures that traders do not lose more than their account balance. This means if the market moves against your trade significantly, your account balance will not go below zero. This only works for derived accounts, not for financial accounts. Please contact us via [Live chat](https://deriv.com/contact_us/?is_livechat_open=true) if there is a negative balance on your MT5 account. Your MT5 account’s negative balance will be reset to zero automatically if it reaches a negative balance due to Stop-Out. Note: The negative balance will be reset on the next day.
