# Start Time Delay in SmartTrader

Hi Deriv Community,
Please be advised that the **start time** of the SmartTrader is when the contract is processed by our servers and the **entry spot** is the **next tick** thereafter.
Therefore the start time and the entry spot may differ from one another. However, this does not mean that there is a delay in the start time. The **entry spot** of the trade is the **next tick** available.
