Hello Deriv Community,
The Market Facilitation Index (MFI) is a technical indicator used in finance to assess market direction and strength of price movement by incorporating both price and volume. It aims to identify trends in the market and determine whether a trend is likely to continue or reverse by measuring the change in price and the volume of trade. MFI is calculated as the ratio of price change to volume and is often displayed as a histogram on a chart to indicate bullish or bearish market conditions.
To access the MFI indicator in MT5, follow these steps:
- Log in to your MT5 account.
- Open a chart for the security you want to analyse.
- Click “Insert” in the toolbar at the top.
- Select “Indicators” from the dropdown menu.
- Scroll down in the Indicators menu, and find “Bill Williams” in the list of indicators.
- Select “Market Facilitation Index” from the menu that appears.
- Adjust the settings for the indicator in the new pop-up window. The indicator’s default is set to the current chart’s timeframe.
- Once you’ve set your desired settings, click “OK” to apply the indicator to the chart.
The MFI will be displayed on the chart as a separate sub-window with a value between 0 and 100. You can adjust the indicator’s appearance by right-clicking on it and selecting “Properties” from the context menu.
