Hello Deriv Community,
We’re thrilled to announce that Deriv is migrating its services from the jurisdiction of St. Vincent and Grenadines (SVG) to the regulated jurisdictions of the British Virgin Islands (BVI) and Vanuatu.
For those with an MT5 SVG account (Financial or Derived), this pop-up will appear in the Trader’s Hub on the CFDs section:
The benefits of migrating
Choosing to trade with a regulated broker ensures that your interests are protected, as these brokers follow strict regulations. This boosts confidence and guarantees that you’re dealing with a trustworthy platform dedicated to your best interests.
Migration: A choice that empowers
Migrating your account is entirely optional, provided you meet the regulatory requirements, and it applies to both Derived and Financial accounts. Upon deciding to migrate, be aware that your existing MT5 account will be deactivated after closing any open positions.
Your new MT5 account, based on your chosen jurisdiction, will be automatically added to Trader’s Hub.
How to migrate
- Go to the CFDs section and press “Upgrade” Deriv App | Deriv
- Press “Next” to start your migration.
- Enter your MT5 password and press “Upgrade”
Congratulations, you’ve successfully transitioned your account to a regulated jurisdiction!
How to check your new MT5 login details
-
Go to Trader’s Hub.
-
Ensure your account is set to ‘Demo’ or ‘Real’ depending on your login preference:
- Scroll down to the CFDs Section and click ‘Open’ for the account you want.
- You can now view your MT5 account login details or even trade from the web terminal.
Activating your new MT5 account
If you have funds in your old MT5 account (your SVG account), you can transfer them to your new account using the account transfer function.
Your new MT5 account will be ready for trading after the first transfer. You can either use the provided link or deposit in the cashier and then transfer your funds.
Your SVG account status after migration
After migration, it won’t be possible to open new trades with your SVG account.
New trades must be made with your BVI/Vanuatu account, and the SVG account will be considered closed but will remain accessible for managing any existing open positions.
This is how your accounts will look like in the Trader’s Hub:
Important: Your trading experience will remain consistent. You will use the same password and access the same markets. Enjoy trading on a secure, reliable platform that now operates within a more regulated and secure environment.
