Why did deriv changed the volatility of volatility index 250 without annoncing it? right now price moves very slow (not very volatile). Also, minimum lot is 0.5 (before it was 0.005).
Hi, @beshade-already-1 Thank you for posting on our community. We’ve recently updated the minimum lot sizes for Volatility 250 (1s) and Volatility 150 (1s) to support a smoother trading experience. This change is in line with our Trading Terms (Clause 1.7), where we reserve the right to set risk and volume limits on accounts. It shouldn’t affect your normal trading activity. It seems they have plans on removing it because it’s only going lower with no recent highs if that’s the case why do they continue the market
Hi @chabouk-aerotow-2 , thank you for reaching out to us. Please note that as of now, we do not have any plans on removing Volatility 250 (1s).
Synthetic indices are driven by algorithms that use random number generation to simulate market-like conditions, mimicking real market volatility and trends. Each index is designed with a fixed level of volatility, such as Volatility 10, 25, 50, 75, or 100, 250 where higher volatility leads to more significant price fluctuations, and lower volatility results in steadier movements. Synthetic indices operate 24/7, with price patterns influenced by time-based algorithms.
